The Data Center floor space and facilities Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of our data center infrastructure. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility’s operation, including power, cooling, fire protection, security, and environmental controls.
Other responsibilities include managing data cent security. You will also lead a team of outsourced technicians and contractors, to manage projects, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
What we are looking for
As a Data Center Facility Manager, you’re looking for several key attributes and qualifications to effectively fulfill your role. Proficiency in data center infrastructure, including electrical systems, HVAC, and network setups. Familiarity with data center management and monitoring tools for performance tracking. Understanding of safety standards (e.g., OSHA) and compliance regulations relevant to data centers.
To deliver projects related to maintenance, upgrade, and expansion / optimization of the data center infrastructure.
To work on Emergency response plans for diverse scenarios like power outages, fires, or natural disaster
Ensure optimal performance of critical infrastructure systems, including power distribution, cooling systems, fire suppression systems, and security systems.
Key Responsibilities
preventive maintenance schedules and corrective actions for identified issues emergency response procedures in case of power outages, equipment failures, or other disruptions.
Budgetary allocation and resource management for the data center facilities. Maintain compliance of all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including its documentation of all procedures and systems Lead and manage data center audits.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on data center operations smooth integration of data center operations with other critical functions and on maintenance and upgrade of equipment and systems.
Responsible for providing Data center design and construction inputs, sustainability initiatives, and energy efficiency optimization.
Responsible for writing Datacenter related tenders such as maintenance contract, co-location sourcing etc. and writing management approval papers.
Applicants Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with minimum 5 years relevant industry experience or Diploma in electrical engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in data center infrastructure and facility management. Familiar with fire safety rules and regulations associated with operating complex data center infrastructure.
Proficient in data center monitoring and management software Familiar with data center fiber and structure cabling would be an added advantage.
Possess Datacenter certification eg. CDCP, CDFOM
Familiar with TIA-942-B design standards for Datacenter, Uptime Standards and ASHRAE requirements
Familiar with IT hardware specifications and computer racking requirements for datacenter space and power planning.
Excellent organizational/administrative skills as well as strong communications & interpersonal skills
Must be a positive, collaborative, active excellent problem-solver, being customer service oriented and conscientious.
Willing to work on non-office hour and weekend including public holidays if required.
